Some popular stainless steel gate styles for townhouses: vertical bars, CNC panels, glass and sliding gates. Pros and cons of each.
The gate is the first face of a house. For townhouses and tube houses in Long Xuyen and the residential areas of An Giang, the frontage is usually narrow, so the gate must be both attractive and space-saving. Here are the stainless steel gate styles often chosen.
1. Minimalist vertical-bar gate
A box frame with small box bars standing evenly spaced. This style is neat, airy, easy to clean and suits many architectural styles.
Pros: lets air through, reasonable price, few details so easy to maintain. Note: if vertical bars are too far apart there may be gaps for small children and pets, so choose a suitable bar spacing.
2. Gate with patterned CNC panels
Stainless steel sheets are CNC-cut into leaf, lotus or geometric patterns and fixed to the frame.
Pros: private, with an accent, creating privacy. Note: less airy, many details so cleaning takes more effort; the leaf weight increases so the hinges and frame need to be sturdy enough.
3. Space-saving sliding gate
The gate leaf slides on a track and needs no swing space. Suits homes with a narrow frontage or places where many vehicles are parked.
Note: the track and wheels need regular cleaning to keep out dirt and sand; a recessed track needs good drainage.
4. Classic double-leaf swing gate
The leaves open outward or inward and can be decorated with hand-bent patterns.
Pros: traditional, suits villas and garden houses. Note: needs enough room for the leaves to swing; choose load-bearing hinges.
5. Gate combined with tempered glass
Some designs combine glass for a light, elegant frontage.
Note: the glass must be thick and to standard, and shows dirt easily.
6. Automatic gate
Uses a motor for a sliding or swing gate. Townhouses often choose an automatic sliding gate for convenient motorbike and car access.
Note: choose a motor with enough load capacity, fit a safety circuit against jamming, and have a manual way to open the gate during a power outage.
Choosing the stainless steel grade for the gate
For an outdoor front gate, 304 stainless steel is a common choice thanks to good rust resistance. 201 may suit places with little exposure to sun and rain and a limited budget. Near rivers or where there is salt, consider 316.
Questions to answer before ordering
- How many meters wide is the frontage, and do you need to leave a separate walking entrance?
- Do you prioritize privacy or airflow?
- How many vehicles come and go each day (this affects the choice of hinges and track)?
- What is your reference budget, so the workshop can advise on grade and thickness?
Next step
Take a photo of the frontage, measure the width of the opening, and send them to the workshop to receive a preliminary proposal. The workshop can also survey on site in Long Xuyen and the surrounding area.
